On The Road With Jesus Annual Mission Project

“..the Lord appointed seventy others and sent them on ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself intended to go…..The seventy returned with joy.” Luke 10.1,17

‘On the Road with Jesus’ is the Sunday when the people of Luther Memorial literally ‘get out of the box’ and walk with Jesus into our community.  Powered by the Holy Spirit and a vision of mission, the folks of Luther Memorial take this opportunity to intentionally put their ‘hand to the plow’ so to serve others within our community.  In their serving, they are looking for God already at work bringing about new life in others.

Planning begins in April as community needs are identified by members of Luther Memorial.  Through this open suggestion process, members are able to share their passions and concerns with us.  Servant opportunities develop with both local and global needs in mind.  Teams of servants are formed, resources gathered, and worship planned.

There are many who believe that the church of God has a mission.  At Luther Memorial, however, we believe that the mission of God has a church.  We pray that we are faithful participants in that mission.
