Hello! If you are reading this, you may be considering a Sunday morning or Wednesday evening worship service at Luther Memorial. We want you to feel comfortable whenever or how often you join us, so here is a peek inside our worship services:
SUNDAY MORNING SERVICES are what some would call ‘traditional', and last about an hour. There is a sermon, usually three hymns, Bible readings, and time for reflection and prayers. Communion (either individual or common cup) is offered. A bulletin neatly lists the flow of the service and hymnals facilitate our joyful noise! We each participate at our own level of comfort. Casual attire is the norm, but you will see people in jeans, sport clothes, suits, or dresses on any given day. We have a nursery caregiver for little ones; older children seem comfortable in our setting. Services start on time with announcements and the sharing of God's Peace. Since our service times are seasonal and change on special occasions, be sure to check the upper right-hand corner of our home page for this week's service times.
“Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” Jeremiah 29:12
THE WEDNESDAY EVENING SERVICES start at 7pm and last 30 minutes. There are usually no hymns; a printed guide to the service is provided. Pastor shares a message based upon that week’s scripture and communion is offered. Attendance is usually on the small side, with about 25 worshipers. Casual attire is expected. Our regular attendees really look forward to this midweek ‘recharge’ in their lives. If you've been seeking a relaxed, uncrowded setting for worship and prayer, this mid-week service just may be what you're looking for.
As a guest of our members, you are not expected to contribute an offering when visiting at any service.
Luther Memorial is handicap accessible via the South Bay Road back parking lot entrance. Enter through the double doors and turn left to the social hall to access the (usher-operated) elevator or stairs to the sanctuary (there are signs everywhere.) There is convenient seating for those more comfortable staying seated in a wheelchair during any service. We are air-conditioned in the summer months. Thanks for visiting - we hope you feel comfortable enough to worship with us or leave a message:
