Samaritan Center Luncheons
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
It’s truly a blessing to be asked twice each year to support some of the work of the Samaritan Center, 215 North State Street, downtown Syracuse, by cooking, baking and serving the afternoon meal for about 250 guests (individuals and families). We rely on that good ol’ family favorite – sloppy joes – for the main course (recipe provided to our cooks who make it, freeze it beforehand). Our bakers crank out dozens and dozens of cookies to package up as carry out treats for each guest, and from time-to-time we also make sandwiches to provide a snack later in the day. Many people give funds, too, for the meal components salad, rolls, fruit and dessert. Approximately 20 people are needed to serve & clean up after service........a lot of hands make short work. No experience serving? No problem! We do on-the-spot-training. Thanks to Gordon who spearheads this Luther Memorial mission opportunity!
THERE ARE LOTS OF WAYS TO BE INVOLVED: Serve. Donate. Cook. Bake.
